Automatic table of contents (toc)
Bravo Notes can generate a table of contents (toc) for you automatically based on the headings you have in your document.
The automatic table of contents is supported in multiple scenarios:
- PDF export table of contents
- Azure DevOps Wiki table of contents
- HTML export table of contents
Automatic table of contents in PDF exports
When exporting a PDF in Bravo Notes you can enable, disable and configure the table of contents in the PDF options and the Table of Contents (PDF) HTML template and CSS styles.
The table of contents is enabled by default for PDF exports.
The table of contents in PDF exports by default includes page numbers and every heading in the table of contents is linked to the actual heading in the document body. You will also find that common PDF viewers like Adobe Acrobat Reader, Edge, or Google Chrome provide a document outline feature in their UI.
Automatic table of contents in Azure DevOps Wiki exports
When exporting to a Wiki page in Azure DevOps the created/updated Wiki page will not have a table of contents by default.
You can insert an automatically generated table of contents by adding a special token to your template like this:
[[_TOC_]]
##Automatic table of contents in HTML exports
When exporting as HTML in Bravo Notes the document will not have a table of contents by default.
You can insert an automatically generated table of contents by adding a special token to your template like this:
